Premium Managed Tailscale DERP Relay & UDP Peer Relay
The Wired Nomad Diamond Tier provides a premium, customer-specific managed custom Tailscale DERP server with UDP Peer Relay included.
Designed for digital nomads and remote workers facing a Tailscale exit node speed bottleneck when restrictive NAT, CGNAT, or hotel firewall restrictions prevent a direct connection to a home exit node.
Tailscale prefers direct connections. When a direct path is unavailable, it can use an eligible, reachable UDP Peer Relay before falling back to DERP. A custom DERP in a suitable region or an available UDP Peer Relay may improve relayed connection performance in some setups; actual results depend on network conditions and are not guaranteed.
The customer-specific custom DERP provides an alternative to shared public DERP relays when direct and UDP Peer Relay paths are unavailable. Traffic remains end-to-end encrypted with WireGuard. An existing Tailscale exit node is required.
